Official Visit of H.E. Dr. Denzil Douglas, Foreign Minister of St. Kitts & Nevis to India

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saint Christopher (Saint Kitts) and Nevis, Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas, paid a historic official visit to India from August 4 to 9, 2024. This marked the first-ever foreign ministerial visit from St. Kitts and Nevis to India, representing a landmark milestone in the bilateral relationship between the two nations.

During the visit, Dr. Douglas held comprehensive bilateral talks with India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar. The discussions covered a wide spectrum of mutual interest, including security cooperation, healthcare and affordable pharmaceuticals, agriculture, renewable energy, and digital public infrastructure.

Key outcomes of the state visit included the signing of major cooperation agreements. The two nations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on sharing India's digital solutions (India STACK) to support digitalization in the Federation. Additionally, an MoU on sports cooperation was signed to enhance collaboration in athlete training, coach development, and sports medicine. Dr. Douglas also held productive meetings with India's Minister of Health, JP Nadda, and Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, and visited key pharmaceutical and environmental research facilities.
