St. Kitts and Nevis Set to Open Diplomatic High Commission in Singapore

The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis has announced plans to establish a resident High Commission in Singapore, marking a major milestone as the first Caribbean nation to open a diplomatic mission in the city-state.

Foreign Minister Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas confirmed that the Federation secured the necessary agrément (official diplomatic approval) from the Government of Singapore. The establishment of this new chancellery is part of St. Kitts and Nevis's active foreign policy to expand its footprint in Southeast Asia and build strong relationships with major global financial and technological hubs.

The mission will focus on advancing bilateral cooperation in maritime trade, investment, green technology, climate resilience, and education. It builds on the diplomatic momentum generated by the country's recent opening of its resident High Commission in India in April 2026, demonstrating St. Kitts and Nevis's commitment to fostering international bridges across Asia.
